During His 3 years of middle school, Sakuragi Hanamichi has been rejected by 50 girls. To gain Haruko-chan's favor, Sakuragi joins basketball team. However, the constant practices bother him. After the practice with Ryonan was over, the basketball team begins to intensely practice for interhigh. Also the trouble making Miyagi Ryota, and the former middle school MVP Mitsui Hisashi have returned to the Team.
In the middle of the regional tournament, Shohoku gets into the strongest 4, But lost to Kainan by mere 2 points. In another game, Kainan beat Ryonan in over time and got the privelege to represent Kanagawa in the interhigh.
To get into the interhigh, Sakuragi Hanamichi started to do special training.
